THANK YOU! I never in a million, trillion years expected one of my costumes to be featured as a Daily Deviation. I am so thankful and so very honored! This character has been very near and dear to my heart for many years. I could not even believe my eyes when I woke up this morning and realized what had happened. Thank you to ~hunter1828 for taking this beautiful photo! Thank you to the kind *DameOdessa for suggesting it as a DD, you are the epitome of sweetheart. And thank you to ^pullingcandy for agreeing to feature it.
This is a shot of me as one of my original drow/dark elf characters, Shiz Rhylnvirr. I wore the costume to Miscon 2012 in Missoula Montana and my long-time friend Robert ~hunter1828 took photos of me. I am so happy with how this shot came out! Robert is truly a master of the lens!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! And being a drow is super fun! I really encourage you to do it!
I have now tried out two different kinds of makeup and I like them both, though I've found that one seems to wear better in cool weather than in hot.
For this photo I used Graftobian Disguise Stix painted on with a brush using water as the 'mixing agent', then powdered all over with Ben Nye Neutral Setting Powder. Then I highlighted with a silvery grey powder for contouring and finished off with Ben Nye Final Seal Spray. That seems to work well in cooler weather.
For warmer climates I've used Mehron's Paradise Color Palette painted on with a brush using water as the 'mixing agent', then powdered all over with Ben Nye Neutral Set Powder and highlighted with a silvery grey powder for contouring. Then I finish off with Ben Nye Final Seal Spray. You can also try Mehron's NoSweat underneath everything, which will help cut down on the oil your skin produces as well.
There is also a very long-lasting tried and true method used by a good friend of mine over at our drow costuming group Darkened-Facade. Here's the link: [link]
